To align with the Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Limited’s implementation of the arrangements for maintaining normal operation of Hong Kong securities and derivatives markets under severe weather (Definition as follows, with reference to the SFC Circular dated 18 June 2024) (“Severe Weather Trading”) effective from 23 September 2024 (the “Effective Date”), we shall continue to make available the following services under severe weather:
Severe weather refers to the scenario where a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, or an “extreme conditions” announcement is made by the HKSAR Government |
Online Trading Platform:
Clients will still be able to place securities and derivatives orders through our online trading platforms1 or Mobile App. To ensure you can continue using our services under severe weather, please be reminded to contact your account executives to apply for the aforesaid services in advance if needed.
Making order instructions through telephone:
Clients will still be able to place securities and derivatives by contacting their account executives. Due to adverse weather conditions, the telecommunications network may experience higher traffic or usage. If you are unable to get through immediately, please be patient and try calling again later.
Arrangement of fund deposits and withdrawals:
Under adverse weather conditions, all deposits and withdrawals of funds must take place in electronic form and that delays of services may be expected from time to time. All the relevant banking services with respect to the deposits and withdrawals of funds are subjected to the bank. It is advisable for the client to constantly monitor their account balances to avoid insufficient funds, which
